Under the radar to many residents of the state, South Carolina has experienced a solar energy boom throughout the past few years. South Carolinians are realizing the advantages of the great weather and sunshine that the Southeast experiences more often than other regions in the country.
Solar energy is growing at a breathtaking rate in South Carolina. Even with 2000% growth from 2015 to 2018 (GTM Research/SEIA), many residents of South Carolina are unaware of this increase in solar energy use. Even more astounding, South Carolina has more rooftop solar capacity installed than Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Tennessee combined (EIA)
Ranking 2nd in the Southeastern U.S. for residential solar installed (Savannah River National Laboratory), it is time South Carolina embraces its role as a leader in solar energy.
